When I install AMDs AGP driver 4.45 games like UT and Halflife work fine. However, the game The Sims locks up after playing for 30 secs. Previously in this newsgroup I read about a conflict between Windows 98 and AMD drivers and that Win 98 SE2 works better. Could this be the problem? /Andreas Sent via Deja.com

You can only use the Enable DMA checkbox if the driver is the stock MS driver. The VIA drivers enable by default (yes I know some people get it to work but they are in the minority). With the MS drivers my system will allow me to enable DMA but with the AMD drivers I can't. But benchmarks showed me that it is

Some people have recommended just renaming the AMD drivers to the name of the ID drivers (ie remove the AM from the end of the driver name), but this doesn't work so don't waste your time trying. I suggest you email AMD with the problem, the more people that do this the more likely they are to fix the bug.
